With this motto and an extensive program of events will be commemorated as “Museum Month” in the context of the May 18 International Museum Day, which was declared by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and recognized by various international bodies such as UNESCO.

In Guatemala, the national museums, public and private, took the initiative to hold during the entire month of May the Museum to give the national and international visitors the opportunity to appreciate the heritage that each of these institutions jealously guards.
