Ipala Lake is a Tourist Attraction in the Eastern Guatemala

A natural source of water that is recharged with input from the rain and the small tributaries of the basin, as a volcanic crater.
Ipala volcano, popularly called the Agua Volcano, on the lake that has in its crater, is one of the places whose natural beauty attracts tourists and scholars who wish to observe the flora, fauna and landscapes that characterize this region of eastern Guatemala.
Ipala is a word that Ipal-ha evolved from meaning “seat of kings” Cherty language. It is located in the crater of the volcano to 1,650 meters above sea level, is 600 meters in diameter and 15 deep.
Visitors begin their adventure from leaving the vehicle in the village called Chagiiiton. From there, they can walk or rent a beast for the move to the volcano. Read the rest of this entry »
