Lanquín Caves National Park

It is one of the most famous caves of Guatemala. They form a wonderful network of galleries and vaults, and despite the continuing deterioration caused by improper handling, still exhibit much of its mysterious beauty. At the foot of the entrance to a river called Lanquín arises, then travel 12 kilometers in the river discharge Cahabón.

Lachuá Lagoon National Park

In just over 4 square kilometers. It is on a hot plain, situated between the rivers and Chixoy Icbolay and mountains Peyán and Nine Hills. Surrounded by forests and wildlife in a tropical rainforest.

Parque Nacional Las Victorias

One of the most popular recreation department. In its 84 hectares natural forests are mixed pine and sweet gum. It is an excellent resource for ecotourism, recreation naturalist, research and education. It is within the urban perimeter of the city of Coban.

Biosphere Reserve, Sierra de las Minas

The department’s southeastern reaches the tops of the hills Mululjá, La Cucaracha and Raxon of the Sierra de las Minas. So, includes much of the cloud forests of the Reserve, especially those associated with the headwaters of rivers Samiljá, Pueblo Viejo and Sarsaparilla. Beautiful places, but very difficult to access. A challenge of mountaineering.
