Chimaltenango is a Historical Site in Guatemala

Located a few kilometers from the capital city of Chimaltenango is a department full of color and tradition. That color has been impregnated not only by the painters of Comalapa, but by the historical events that have become an important place in the history of Guatemala.

Archaeological sites and Iximché Mixco Viejo, have as a place that shelter Chimaltenango, which tell us to be visited due to its construction and the remains that can still be found, there lived the events, for example, name the first capital of the kingdom of Guatemala, founded in Iximché (Tecpán), the July 25, 1524.
