Los Esclavos (The Slaves)

This place is known for its bridge, its turicentro and the the slave River that now provides electricity to the region through the hydroelectric plant located at the side of the bridge.

With almost 500 years of existence, still shows solid and remains standing despite tremors and earthquakes that occurred in Guatemala.

It has a curious legend… It is said that in the past its completion was planned and was virtually impossible because of the delays in its construction. However one of the maintainers invoked the devil and made a deal… his soul in exchange for see finished the next day.

The next day the bridge was completed, but the character repented of the treatment…

The devil appeared to him and he claimed and after a struggle, the devil threw a kick dodged the character and sent to the bridge, starting a piece of the same… Since then, it is said that no matter what to do to fix that piece, always falls… Read the rest of this entry »
