The small territory of Guatemala, with its 108 thousand square kilometers, contains a number of cultural treasures left by a past rich in incidents and changes. One of the most appealing to today’s traveler is what the artistic legacy left during the Hispanic period, known as colonial.

The Central American isthmus was called by the Spaniards as the Kingdom of Guatemala, whose capital city was in Santiago de Guatemala. Throughout the entire territory, the authorities ordered to build whole cities, with buildings made it a lot of problems today. That is its main attraction, which after centuries of use, withstand earthquakes and attacks by humans have managed to overcome these difficulties, mostly due to the genius of its builders.
