Traveling to Tikal
Tikal is a National Archaeological Park which preserves the architectural vestiges of the ancient Maya civilization, whose temples are famous worldwide.
It is located in Petén, which is the largest in Guatemala Department and has a vast natural variety. My expectations were great on my first trip to this place.
I had heard so many interesting stories about places to visit my curiosity grew as soon as I approached.
You can arrive by plane or by land, I chose overland by presenting more wealth know nearby locations and the road itself.
I took the road to the Atlantic and continue until you find the crossing (well said by the way) indicating the path towards Petén and Izabal. I spent a night in Izabal because he was out late and wanted to avoid driving at night. It is a safe way, but day could come more quickly to handle a better speed. Read the rest of this entry »
